Tutorial hook with objection-handling mid-video drives feature-discovery authority

Hook types

01 · THE FRAMEWORK

Opens with a direct-address accusation ('you don't know how to…') that doubles as a curiosity gap, immediately resolved with a time-bounded promise ('45-second step-by-step'). Middle delivers numbered steps in rapid sequence, then inserts a scripted objection ('But what if I don't have this feature yet?') to retain viewers who would otherwise drop. Close answers the objection with a second tactic, then ends with a third-party attribution line that functions as a soft authority endorsement.

02 · THE CTA PATTERN

No explicit CTA , closes with a social-proof attribution ('I follow Ava') that signals follow-worthy expertise without a direct ask.

03 · TRANSLATE IT FOR TRADERS

- Open with a second-person accusation framed as a gap ('You don't know how to X') , forces the viewer to self-identify and stay to prove or disprove it. - Anchor retention in the first 5 words with a time-bound promise ('45-second tutorial') , removes the viewer's cost-benefit objection before they swipe. - Number every step explicitly ('Step one… Step two…') , creates a progress bar in the viewer's mind that discourages early exit. - Insert at least one scripted mid-video objection in the viewer's voice ('But what if I don't have this yet?') , re-hooks the segment of the audience about to leave due to a barrier. - Pair the primary tactic with a fallback alternative , doubles the audience who find the content actionable, increasing saves. - Use a third-party attribution close ('I learned this from X') , transfers credibility to the creator without self-promotion, and signals community membership to the audience. - Tie content to a platform feature that is 'currently rolling out' , novelty framing makes the video feel time-sensitive and boosts share behavior among early adopters.
