Hook types
contrariantransformationnumber-shocklisticle
01 · THE FRAMEWORK
Opens with a binary rule stated as a one-line contrast (niche = low views, broad = high views). Middle delivers three paired before/after hook rewrites across unrelated niches to prove the rule is universal. No close or summary , the pattern repetition itself is the proof. Ends with a direct follow CTA.
02 · THE CTA PATTERN
Explicit follow CTA tied to a content category promise: 'Follow for more social media marketing education.'
03 · TRANSLATE IT FOR TRADERS
- Open with a direct binary claim in the first sentence: 'X does Y, Z does W' , no preamble, no greeting
- Use a specific large number in the broad hook version (997 books, not 'many books') to manufacture credibility and curiosity simultaneously
- Rewrite the same idea twice in succession , niche version first, broad version second , so the contrast does the teaching without explanation
- Replace insider/clinical language in hooks with universally understood physical or emotional experience (e.g., 'bowel movements' → 'pooping')
- Frame the broad hook as a transformation or outcome the viewer wants, not a topic the creator knows about
- Use three examples minimum when teaching a rule , one example reads as cherry-picked, three reads as a system
- Apply the niche-to-broad rewrite formula to trading hooks: swap 'How I traded the NQ futures gap' for 'I've lost $40,000 trading one pattern , here's the only five setups I use now'
- End with a category-specific follow CTA ('Follow for prop firm breakdowns / funded trader strategy') not a generic 'follow me'
