STEAL THIS · CROSS-NICHE PATTERN

Contrarian loop hook dismantles the very content category it lives in

Hook types

contrarianobjection-handlerconfessionpattern-interrupt

01 · THE FRAMEWORK

Opens by diagnosing the viewer's exact failure mode using second-person accusation ('the reason YOU are not…'), then names the ironic cause (over-consuming strategy content). Middle pivots to a personal confession ('tutorial hoe') to neutralize defensiveness and establish credibility through self-inclusion. Close delivers a single blunt prescription , volume over strategy , and ends with a direct callback to the opening irony as the punchline CTA.

02 · THE CTA PATTERN

Implicit behavioral CTA embedded in the final line: 'stop watching how-to videos and just post more' , redirects the viewer away from consumption and toward action, which paradoxically increases creator authority.

03 · TRANSLATE IT FOR TRADERS

- Open with 'the reason you're not [desired outcome]' in the first 5 words , it locks attention by naming a felt frustration before the viewer can scroll. - Build the hook around a self-referential irony: the video IS the thing it warns against , this creates a pattern-interrupt that rewards staying to see how the contradiction resolves. - Use a self-deprecating label ('tutorial hoe') to pre-empt the 'who are you to say this' objection , place it immediately before your credibility claim, not after. - Anchor credibility with a specific time reference ('four months ago') rather than vague experience claims , concrete timelines feel verifiable. - Repeat one core prescription exactly twice using different phrasing ('put in the reps' → 'post one time a day') , repetition with variation signals conviction without sounding scripted. - End with a one-sentence inversion of the opening diagnosis , it closes the loop and functions as a punchline, increasing share/save impulse. - Apply this framework to prop firm or trading content: 'The reason you keep failing funded challenges is because you've watched too many strategy videos' , same ironic loop, different niche.
