Finance UGC (n.) — user-generated-content-style video — raw, first-person, phone-shot, screen-recorded — adapted to the trading, investing, prop firm, broker and crypto creator vertical. Coined and codified by Zera Creators in 2026 as the financial-creator evolution of the SaaS / consumer "Tech UGC" playbook.

01 · ORIGIN

Where the term comes from.

The raw-POV-plus-screen-recording format was perfected in adjacent niches first — indie SaaS (Marc Lou and the build-in-public cohort), health-tech (Levels Health glucose-monitor reactions), AI dev-tools (Cursor / Replit), crypto (early Geneva wallet-deposit reactions), and fitness creators. The umbrella term that emerged for it was Tech UGC — short, founder-led, phone-shot videos that showed the product working.

Trading, prop firm, broker and crypto creators were late to it. The structural mechanic mapped 1:1 — payout dashboards instead of MRR screens, trade-execution clips instead of feature demos, account balances instead of glucose curves — but the term "Tech UGC" carried baggage from the SaaS world that made it a poor fit for the financial vertical. So in 2026 Zera Creators codified the trading-native version of the format as Finance UGC: same 5-beat structure, vocabulary that actually belongs to traders.
